Default RE: 4.10's are awesome!

If u read above, economy mode w/4.10's is 200rpm higher than the stock rpm's, which would be less of an rpm change than 3.73's, and no one with 3.73's loses mpg unless they lead foot it all the time. So u won't lose any mpg from stock in economy mode, or if u do it will be .5mpg loss or less. BlackStang05, if u use one of the sites I gave u u can get 4.10's there. And all the other places I told u with those prices were the cheapest I've ever found and are really good deals, so trying them is my advice. Good luck guys!

What was your impression of the performance when you loaded the economy tune. You talked about the performance increase with a race tune type of performance.

3:31s + stock tune = stock performance

4:10s + 91 race tune = very noticable difference

4:10s + economy tune = ?????????

I have the 93 octane tune not 91. And With the economy tune and 4.10's it feels a little more powerful than a stock car. Not slow, but definitely noticably slower. No lag, just a slower car. It's bearable if u have other mods and don't use economy mode every day.

Stock gear ratio:2k rpm at 60mph, 65mph-2.2k rpm
4.10's with tuner set at economy mode:2.2k rpm at 60mph and 66mph-2.35k rpm
4.10's w/o economy mode-60mph-2.45k rpm 65mph-2.55k rpm
Ok, help me understand something here; a gear change is mechanical, rpm is mechanical, tune is electrical (computer). How the hell can a tune change your RPM at the same speed? I don't buy that. If your car is traveling at a given speed, then your rear end is turning at a given rate and your engine HAS to rotate at a certain rpm.

Please feel free to enlighten me. I would be happy to eat my words.

Thanks!

I don't know exactly how economy mode works on a tuner, but what ever it does, it lowers your throttle's power and decreases your rpm's by a little more than a couple hundread. That's a good ?, maybe the answer is on SCT's site or Predator's site. I may search these forums and see if theres an actual answer.
