Default Hood Pin Appearance Kit

I have a question for all those on theforum that have the hood pins(non-functional) on their rides.Im soon going to be installing the shaker kit on my 07 PP alloy met in color. I think the pins would look great with this setup but Im concerned about the wire part of the hood pins rubbing my hood and scratching. Do you guys have any issues like this with your hood pins?

Wicker off your subject, how much are you paying for your shaker?

$795 free shipping is the cheapest I have found through Cal Mustang, its the CDC shaker kit for the V6, I have looked at all of them but none compare to the CDC for quality

Cheaper than I thought. Are you going to cut your hood out, or replace it?

I am going to cut my hood. They have the foose design hood already cutout (CDC) but I dont really like the ridge in the middle. I have the alloy color with white stripes at the bottom of the doors. I plan on getting the white hood superstripe that wraps around right behind the shaker, I figure this would really contrast the black shaker scoop.

i dont personally have them but ive seen ALOT of mustangs in person with them and that was one thing i looked at and suprisingly i didnt see any scratches. the functional ones do look better IMO but the non functional ones look great too. make sure u measure when u put em on! and post pics.

when i put them on my car, i was worried that they would scratch...however, i think the trick is how you position the connecting wires.
what i mean is dont position them so that they are lying against the hood, enabling them to scratch.
mine never rub the hood even at highway speeds, they never "flop" around, and after 5ooo miles , no scratches

ill post pics when im at home, im at work now with no pics on this puter.

Mine scratched a bit at first then I positioned them like this so that the wired went in this position

( ) wires
0 0 lights

if you get them to snug they can rub and scratch. I noticed the scratching comes from more of taking them off and on when popping the hood.
I have a black car so the scratching shows up right away.. I got it buffed out... but after positioning like this they have not scratched it a bit.
And they look sweet!

as far as taking them off and on and scratching....i'll let you in on a little secret

My wires are screwed to the underside of the hood, not the car.
you never have to worry about scratching by taking them on and off.. post pics in a few hours, almost off work!

I was thinking you could probably get some small clear tubing to put over the wires also, to prevent scratching.
