How is your reliability so far?

How is your reliability so far?
Four years in a row now, consumer reports gave the 05, 06, 07, and 08 horrible predicted reliability ratings. This is quite a 180 since the 02-04 got impeccable predicted reliability ratings. What gives? I haven't had major problems with mine. I know I've read a few horror stories here and there on this forum about people getting lemons and having to get a new car but that can happen with any car. How good has your stang been to you?

RE: How is your reliability so far?
I have had my wipers cut out twice under rain. According to the guys at Ford, it was because the rain messed up the electronics That was actually really dangerous. There have also been maybe 4 other annoyances with my car. I dont remember exactly what they were, but they were not dangerous like the wipers one.

Consumer Reports is FOS. How could they have a rating for the 2005 Mustang? You would need at least two years worth of data for any model.
Here's how my 'vaunted' 1996 Toyota Corolla went down:
(1) Starter Motor
(2) Alternator
(3) Alternator again
(4) CD player brakes
(5) Dashboard gets horrible squeaking after about seven years.
(6) Gas tank developes leak. (Toyota mechanic tells me a story of how his Corolla's gas tank split open on the highway and dumped all his fuel out.)
(7) Oxygen sensor goes
(8) Steering wheel hydraulics develops leaks
(9) When I sold the car one of the motor mounts was broken--didn't even know it.
By the way, 99% of my driving was California Highway--smooth and steady. Hey, I loved my Corolla--got 230k out of it. But if you look at that list above you would think Toyota was horrible. The fact is, people *remember* everything thing that goes wrong with their American cars but conveniently *forget* all the cr*p their foreign cars give them.

The only danger I've had is the parking brake kept getting stuck on really cold mornings and I would be unable to drive the car without burning it up. Oh yeah, and the passengers side seatbelt went haywire with the beeping.

Don't waste your time with what some geek-squad jornalist has to say about cars. I honestly believe it is baised, as is Motor Treand among other publications. Ford quiality is down played big time. They tied for 2nd in the TGW(Things Gone Wrong) rating. Thats prettygood. My 94 GThas 136K on it, runsgreat.

I have an 05 and its been in for warranty work twice, both times electrical (tail lights and dash lights)and the car has never let me down in the two years I`veowned it. I thing the car is very reliable. I have 23,000 miles on it.
