New CAI and GT take-off muffler?
Hi guys,
I've been reading the posts and have decided to purchase an AFE Stage 1 CAI for my '05 Stang V6 Auto. Also, after reading some of the posts I've ordered the GT take-off muffler. I've wanted a little better sound than the one that the stock muffler provided. Here is my question, as silly as it might be without putting in the mods and running a dyno test. With the install of the CAI and the GT muffler (and not getting a tuner right off the bat) do you guys think that that I'd see any kind of gains in HP/TQ with this initial setup over stock 05 Stang V6 auto? Also, it I were to get a tuner would that make much of a difference? I tend to drive my Mustang about 70 miles a day on the highways to and from work each day. Can the new mods possibly trip my CEL?I wonder about how the on board computer might "feel" about extra air from the CAI and a free-er flowing GT single muffler. Thanks guys....

With the intake and the take-off, you will definitely see gains over your stock set-up. And with the addition of a tuner, you will definitely have some noticeable gains--especially since you have an auto.

yeah, the combination of the AFE intake (which i hear is very good for untuned stangs) and the higher flowing GT take-off, you should feel a nice difference. definate improvement over stock. A tuner with just the canned tunes will add even more power that is very noticeable and a tuner with custom tunes will raise the bar even more with power and awesome throttle response. if you're not ready for a tuner, your current mods are already a nice start.
