Has anyone had their rocker panel stripes painted on?

I like my rocker stripes, so they're definitely staying, but I've been having so much trouble with the vinyl peeling and chipping off and everything, and having to get them re-done by Ford (under warrenty, thankfully) that I've been considering getting them just painted on there. It'd be nice to not worry about accidently peeling the stripe off when I'm washing it or whatever.

Has anyone else done this? I'm just a little hesitant because I've heard that painted rocker stripes will look nasty in short time, getting hit with little rocks and everything off the tires while driving around. The vinyl, I'm told, is much better at taking the little rock hits and still looking good.

Any experiences with this?

Hmm I haven't heard of anyone painting the rocker stripes before. I'm sure it can be done. I like mine, too. They've held up very well over the last two years. I haven't had any problems with them peeling or anything. But yeah, I'm sure you can do it if you want them to be permanent.

Try painting them with the new invisable paint.
They look awesome that way.
