Longevity with S/C?

RE: Longevity with S/C?
I agree 100%. Boost doesn't destroy rods and pistons, an improper tune does. Its all in the tuning. I am running 454RWHP and she is strong and sounds amaxing. A/F is perfect throughout the RPM range and never goes lean. Helps to have a GT500 duel pumps and 60# injectors as well. But any FI setup will affect longevity of the motor unless it is forged.

it depends soley on your tune
a properly tuned 10 psi intercooled setup will last longer then a bolt on car with an excessivly lean tune, just as long as your car doesnt detonate your good

I find it interesting how all this supercharger advice comes from people that don't own one. [sm=icon_blah.gif]

Basically, the idea is that if you stay out of boost, you are like driving N/A. Just get a good tune and you will be set.

I didnt know we had to be FI to give opinions.
I've been reading up on ALL superchargers for the 4.0, although I do not know from 1st hand experience how each SC sounds, or pulls, I do know the good things along with the bad about them.

Gray Poney, u no some people here r mechanics and frequent drag strip goers? Do u think they no anything about superchargers? I think so, since they install and have been around many, theyno their boost capabilities, reliability, and power. And why would u just post something like that? We r tring to help people and all u give is a snotty 2 cents remark. Grow up if u can't post anything nice or informative!

I may not have one on MY car buthave installed more turbos and superchargers, and maintained engines with them, than you could shake your lil stick at.

I think it is relative to ask if 10 psi on a sc is equal to 10psi on a turbo for instance? Not in terms of power, but in terms of strain on the engine?Same?
