i say it's a 4.0L because half the time people that ask if it's a v8 or a v6 have absolutely no idea what they are talking about and get confused as soon as i say it.

them: so is that a v8?
Me: it's the 4.0l
them: oh (should i ask which one that is, or will i look stupid)

i dont even care really. It's pretty funny how kids driving old civic si's with 160hp will say, "oh why did you get a six and not a gt???". i just smile and think, why did you get a dick magnet instead of a real car?

I've done this several times with the same results. However, people at the track are very accepting of a quick V6, so I brag that it's "a 4.0L V6".

well there's a bunch of kids in my school who always say to me, "it's only a six" or ask me why not just get the v8, i reply sure if you wanted to pay for the difference i'd gladly get a GT, i have yet gotten a smart response to that one yet

My car appearance wise is stock. And people who see it ask "Did you get the GT?" I even take them seriously after a question like that. If they can't tell, then their opinions aren't even acknowledged. But when asked I reply "I got the V6" with a smile Sure would like a GT, but I'm not ashamed of what I got. It's in my name, mommy and daddy didn't buy it, and it's a damn sexy car!

I had a similar question the other day. My wife's uncle asked if it was a 5.0 in a kind of smug that-ain't-a-V8 kind of way. So I said, "No. They haven't made the 5.0 in almost four years." He was kind of embarassed that he didn't know that, so he just shut up and walked away.

Exactly. My wife's uncle drives a Ford Escape. He can't even afford a proper truck, and he's giving me **** about my engine size?

I had a guy ask me how big my engine was a few days ago at a gas station. When I told him it was a 245, he gave me a very confused look. I had to eventually say 4.0 V6....but I'm getting 29 mpg and girls still stop me to tell me they like my car and I treat my car better than most people do their 8's. Changed the oil/filter and washed it yesterday.

Wait, didI miss something or didn't they stop making the 5.0 in mid 90's? (more than 10yrs ago)
