Default Has any here....?

Has anyone here removed their stock pony package spoiler? After looking through the search engine, i have only found people B!+<h!ng about how hard it is to remove the GT spoiler. Well I can tell you the pony package spoiler is no treat either! There is a huge piece of double sided tape in the center. Any ideas on how to remove it without destroying the trunk? I haven't tried using fishing wire yet, but it is such a huge area, will it work? I tried using string and it didn't. So I am asking for help!!! Any ideas?

Mine is a 2006 PP, so it had two mounting points for the GT-style spoiler. I used dental floss - doubled up. It still broke several times. I was finally able to manually force the spoiler off the decklid. I used Goof Off and a plastic spreader for joint compound to remove the gooey mess, which took a LONG time by being careful. I plugged the holes with 4 stainless bolts, clear washers, nuts, and clear windshield sealer. At so point I may fill the holes and repaint, assuming I don't find somebody to swap decklids with.

I removed mine last week. It was a sinch dude. just have a buddy with you to catch the spoiler haha. I just used a little plastic scraper tool to get underneath it and scraped some of the tape off on both sides, used a lil muscle and the sucker came right off.

Onmine, I pulled gently on the spoiler while making small slices at the tape with a razor blade. After I got it off, I cleaned up the exess tape with adhesive remover. This is available at auto paint supply stores.

Use WD-40 to remove adhesive from your paint. It works 10x better than most adhesive removers and doesn't hurt your paint.

I just applied steady pressure, and it popped right off. And yes, you need someone there to catch it once it does release.

Yea, I forgot about WD40. That stuff is really good for cleaning things like that.
