RE: HP bump?
The 2010 Mustang GT is "supposed to be rated at 350 bhp, with the sixers pushing out around 260. The GT-500 is still uncertain, but the rumor is that it will be over the 600 bhp mark competing agains the Viper, Corvette, and Camarro SS.

although, 210 to 260 is a huge leap. i'm starting to question that. 330 GT and 240 V6 seems more inline to me. what about the torq gains?

No, that's not a big leap. I was invited by Ford to take an on-line survey with regard to the future of the Mustang. Two engines I had to vote on for the V-6 was (1) Paying 1,000 more for a 260HP n/a engine, 2000 more for a 300HP twin turbo, and I can't remember the other engine option. It was an extensive survey. Who knows what the future will bring. But Ford's new CEO, when he was at Boeing, took seriously the idea of serveying your customers to find out what they wanted and what they were willing to pay.

haha....210 to 260 IS a big leap. how many of us can get that out of our N/A stangs? but if 260 is the actual number for the next sixr, then GOOD JOB FORD!. its nice to know that they are finally going after the import sixr's. ford is taking a dump right now but its the only way the company will get better and on its way back up.

i think you mean to say thats its not a big leap for a ford V6 engine but it still is a big leap for mustang. what has been the average hp increase over recent years from model to model? id be surprised if it was 50+ hp.
