Default CATS or NO CATS?

I have a neighbor with a 2006 GT and his exhaust is hella LOUD...no its LOUD. He told me he had SLP. NOw i have a 2005 v6 but its pretty loud and deep, but no growl. I was thinking about taking out the catalyc converters and adding the SLP resonater I mufflers( I failed spelling class). Later i will be getting headers but let me update u on my setup........Stock headers, cats, H-Pipe and 2 super 40's at the back.

I might go straight pipes from the headers and put the SLP towards the front near the doors and straight pipes after?

GIVE ME ALL YOUR ADVICE!

no cats is illegal in most states. Loud isn't always good. I don't really like the loud exhaust, nice rumble is good, but loud is tacky.

yup.....loud is only good if the performance matches up........its just like the cliche, "BIG BARK, LITTLE BITE".

Sorry, but if you have a V6, you'll never get the "growl"...at least, I've never heard a V6 growl...

hey, your ride looks pretty baddass and it doesnt have a spoiler!....haha, i prefer NO SPOILER myself and intend on keeping it that way as i continue to mod my body's appearance.......as for the growl, my sixr has it......its just more of an adolecent lion growl instead of the GT's alfa male lion roar....haha [8D].

Thanks...and I prefer the clean, no rear spoiler look...and at some point I would like to hear the V6 growl. I like all engine sounds!!

aftermarket muffs (or GT take-offs) make the difference. if the GT came with the piece of crap muffs that came stock on the sixr, your GT would sound like an old skinny and sick lion on its last leg....haha. OEM parts, gotta love em [8D].

Yea my friend got pulled over a month back and the cop was a complete jerk.. gave him a speeding ticket... bent over and looked under the car (no cats). wrote him a huge ticket. not worth it IMO.

Look on the drivetrain section on 4.0 for exhaust clips and u should decide for urself which mufflers u like. No cats r illegal in a lot of places so check ur laws. If their not illegal, cut the catsand getsome mufflers u like. They will make ur car louder and meaner sounding. I'm not sure about headers and ona catlesscar b/c u will lose a noticable amount of low end hp, but if u don't care about performance then u can do both. I don't know how this would sound on our cars, but a 99-04 sixer w/mac mufflers, o/r(no cats) H-pipe, and shorty headers sounded very loud and mean from a youtube post. Check that and that's what ur car should sound similar too with that set-up and the right mufflers. Good Luck!

Actually I have a spoiler and a hood scoop to match. My car is pretty damn fast...........i've beaten 02 and 03 GT's so...................all i need is that gurgle. Ive heard plenty of v6 mustangs wit BITE. most 99-04 but this one guy has a black sixxer with high flo cats and straight pipes and it sounds badass! So i think i might just get the high flow cats, the slp resonator 1 and leave the h pipe and 40's. next thing im looking to buy is the sportline springs from EIBACH
