Default CAI+tune for 5 speed

Do the hp gains give a noticable boost in power for a manual shift, or should i spend my money on something else?

Do it no matter what tranny u got. It's a dyno proven gain of 20-30rwhp(depends on cai and transmission)if u do the 93 octane tune(probably 10hp less if u do 87 or 89). If u run a ti intake w/a bamarace tune, I will guess u'd see around a 30rwhp gain since dwiseforme got a 23rwhp gain on an auto with the 93. U'll feel it andur throttlelag will begone(auto's and manuals have this b/c a computer runs the throttle body opening now, not a cable any more). U should be running pretty nice after this and be glad u spent $500-$550 this wisely. There's no better bang for buck thanthis, not even gears.Good Luck!

Question, regarding tune,
is this something that the dealer would do?
or will they give you the standard this will void warranty?

thanks

Just get an SCT Xcal tuner. Most places will give you 3 tunes included, with one slot for the automatic upload of your factory stock tune. If you need to take it back to ford, just stick the old airbox back on, and reflash the stock tune back onto the computer.

Exactly what rhino said. 30min job tops switching the stock box in and putting the stock tune back on.

Madmax,I have the C&L CAI and B*MA tunes in my 07 manual. Yes you will notice a difference. I orderedthexcal2 with87 performance tune, 93 torque, 93 performance tune. The 87 perf really just feels smoother than the stock tune, but a little more oomph up in the revs. The 93 performance, well I don't really drive around wrapped way up in the revs, it feels better than the 87, but you really have to be up in rpms to notice it. The 93 torque is my favorite, a BIG difference over any of the others, the power feels lower in the rpms, it pulls harder down low. It isTHE tune I keep loaded for day to day. I just took an 8.5 hr road trip with the 87 perf loaded and got 30mpg, cruise set to 70mph give or take a few mph. Idon't have any experience with the race tunes. I don't regretgetting them, but at the sametime, it is expensive. Iput the stock airbox and tune in to see if there was a big difference. I was quite surprised at how the car feltsluggish and wouldn'taccelerate as quickly as it did with the tunes. It felt likeI was towing a trailer.

+1...Brenspeed made a big difference, butI think most of it is how they tune the drive by wire controls to get better throttle responce. You do get more power though. Stock, when I punch it in 3rd or 4th, the car falls on itself. Brenspeed tune, punch it in 3rd or 4th,andit jerks your head back and takes off. 5th gear isn't as useless anymore either.

I still think for the $ vs gain a K&N drop in is the way to go with a good X-Cal tune.
