lurching in first gear

Ford markets the V6 mustang to a large and diverse group of people, many of whom care nothing for performance, but merely want a cool car to drive to and from work. If they put 4.10s or 3.73s and the fuel economy dropped another 2 mpg who do you think would buy the car....certainly not enough people to justify its existence. The V6 is the "economy" mustang, if you wanted top of the line performance from the showroom floor you should've gotten a GT. Bottom line is that Ford didn't drop the ball, they built a car that was marketable to a large group of people so that almost anyone can afford a base model, and then if you want it different there is a huge aftermarket to satisfy that.
oh and by the way i never have a problem with "bucking" maybe you guys need to practice shifting or something

Its your 3.31 gears that need to be changed to 3.73s or 4.10s.
The factory 3.31s are geared towards fuel economy and not
fast smooth takeoffs. Ford drops the ball again for fuel economy.[:@]
So its increase the RPMs and burn the clutch to avoid "bucking"
or replace the rear end gears with something more drivable and
easier on the clutch.

when just trying to ease into it during stop and go traffic? Yes, No?

RE: lurching in first gear
To be honest, it happens in my automatic. It used to happen in my old mustang, but I found that to be a kink in my throttle cable. That is impossible now I guess!!! Sometimes when I step on the gas (lightly or not) it will either wait and decide when it wants to go or "buck" like you're describing. Even with a tune.

I've noticed the bucking on my car. But primarily when the engine is cold and I am being careless with the clutch. To be honest I thought it was worse with the 3.73's then with the 3.31's. I would assume because theengine has more leverage over the weight due to the gear ratio change.
Floor the clutch and ease into 1st.

Bottom line is if you ease in the clutch rev up 1st to where the engine won't bog in 2nd and shift you shouldn't have any bucking...at least I never do. Maybe it has to do with getting used to the T-5, cause my old mustang had a t-5 and I thought it used to buck, and then over time I either got used to it or figured out how to avoid so that now the lack of bucking is natural to me. Anyways hopefully it isn't to annoying to you guys since you shouldn't be in first long .

RE: lurching in first gear
it probably has something to do with the throttle by wire while your engine is warming up. I used to get it alot more when i first got my car. Maybe the tune helped out, maybe im just driving better now? who knows
