Default Fuel Filter..

I have 45,000 KM on my car and up until this point I had forgotten to change the fuel filter. My Dealership suggests changing it at 25,000KM

Anyways lately my car has been feeling sluggish when I step on it....so anywho I got my oil done and decided to change the fuel filter....holy **** that puppy must have been clogged up big time because wow..what a difference. It feels like it did when I first bought it with 0KM on it...

No real point to this I guess...except dont forget to change it lol....and I hope I didnt cause any damage leaving it for so long. [:@][:@][:@]

Thanks for the tip.
Here is one.
disconnect your battery for 20 mins or so.
Reconnect and do some daily stop and go driving
and some hi-way miles. The PCM will relearn some
parameters and some more of the giddy up and go
will return.

I only have about 8,000 miles on my 06 manual but and am wondering if I should change the filter or is it too soon?

definately do this, or if you have a tuner, just reload the tune. it resets the fuel trim strategy.

when in doubt, change it, it is wicked easy to do, inexpensive and honestly after 15k miles, I could tell the difference. A "how to" is on this site.

Default RE: Fuel Filter..

Are there like any type of hi-flow filters that should be looked into? Or a fram or comparible will do?

I personally would stick to OEM (ford Motorcraft). There are aftermarket filters but if you follow the maintenance schedule you will avoid dirty, power robbing filters. My .02 worth!
