RPM's at idle
my V6 is a brand new 08, not even a week old,and alittle under 300miles on it. its a 5-speed and when im at lights,it idles around 600 rpms..sometimes while just sitting it will just for a split second, drop enough for you to get that small "rumble" feeling as it would if you were about to stall it,if you know what i mean, only a split second worth than its back to about 600...my previous 2 vehicals were a 00' S-10 5speed and a 81'(or maybe 84', i forget) FIAT 5speed. both of which idled around 1k rpms when stopped,so i thought that was normal
so is that right for the mustangs?..or should i take it to get checked

RE: RPM's at idle
I beleive all mustangs 05-08 standard shifts have this issue. Its not really a issue at all as there is nothing wrong but I have noticed mine doing the same thing. AS for the Idle RPM I think it should be about 600-750 rpm so your alright there. If you were to purchase a tuner you could adjust up your idle RPM to more like 750, I beleive people on here have done that with success.

that's where mine idles at as well. when i first drove it home, i got a little scared, because i drove TO the dealership in a taurus...just a LITTLE different. anyways, your car is perfectly normal, no worries
