Stock V6 Muffler vs GT Take offs

Stock V6 Muffler vs GT Take offs
How much louder are the GT muffler vs stock V6 muffler?
I'm considering swapping my Flowmaster 40-Series Deltaflow for GT Take Offs...
I want some noise but I don't want it to be like the V6 muffler which was pretty quiet.
The flowmasters sounded good from the outside but its interior drone is just too much [sm=outcold.gif]

I love mine. It has a nice mellow tone to it with little drone and sounds great at higher RPM's. Starting up it sounds the best, then once it goes to idle it's pretty much silent. When you're coasting, it's pretty much as quiet as other cars but if you touch the gas at all, you'll hear it.

So the GT mufflers really are a bit louder than the V6 units? I thought they were the same.
I also wantjust a bit more tone, but do not want vibration/drone inside the car. I'm planning to do true duals (pypes most likely,) and I hate the thought of spending the money only to find the mufflers are too loud, or on the other hand, go with GT mufflers and find they sound just like the v6 unit I have now, only "dual."

what you have now
stock from the GT. There's probably about an inch diameter difference between the two. Maybe more, I haven't checked but there is a difference for sure. When you switch them out you can throw that round brown rubber piece off from the V6, it's a sound dampener but you don't need it for the GT's.

The mufflers from a manual GT are a bit louder than the auto GT from what I've read. I have the manual GT takeoffs & have no drone. The interior noise is more the the stock muffler but very acceptable.
The clip below is a solo run down the 1/4 so you can here it in the upper rpm range, that's were you can really tell it's a V6.
Bang for the the buck a single GT muffler is the way to go. Only takes about 5 minutes to swap.
