+ 900. I can roll forward from a complete stop letting out on the clutch without touching the gas. Great for stop & go traffic and the Dunkin Donuts drive-through.

hmmm....i was just thinking......maybe at the higher idle, the dash rattle may go away or decrease [>:]. dead stops is when i get the wicked rattle, so maybe at 900rpm the wickedness will end? ima try it out and see what happens. i'll let u all know the results.

when you start the tuning process, you have a few options. You pick load a tune, then select "modify operational parameters" or something like that, by pressing cancel instead of select.

From there you scroll down until you get to idle rpm and select it and change it to your liking.

Now keep in mind guys you have options here if you have a stick.... for an auto, most people dont put it in neutral or in park at a light, but you can change NEUTRAL idle rpm and your idle in gear. Only change it in gear and you will waste next to no gas, at least if you drive like me...at stop signs and short lights when you don't actually put the car into neutral, just have the clutch in it will stay at the in gear idle. At long lights and what not, where you actually put the stick into neutral, it will go to the stock idle rpm....no gas wasted.

Originally I think mine was set at 800 RPMs and no there is no problem with running it that way and at 100 RPMs more or so it wont guzzle gas either. You are that much closer to your powerband IMO. later J

I have a tune and on the SCT it is set at 900 RPMs
I have mine set at the same RPM. Is there any potential problem (other than guzzling gas) to having the rpm so high. I think stock its like 700.

I think with the SCT xcal2 you can set the idle RPM's at 1500, probably waste alot of gas this away, LOL.

Not to hijack, but on my SCT tuner, I dont remember there being a place where I pick "load a tune". See this is my problem, I'm not sure if I ever got the tune loaded into the car. All I did was plug it in, change the octane to 93 and thats it. I'm so pissed, my car probably isnt even running to full potential because I'm so dumb and cant figure out the SCT tuner. [:@]

just an update on this post......i set my "drive" idle at 850rpm on my custom tune. it was originally set at 750. the rattling has not gone away completely but it has decreased some. i'm going to try increasing again to 900. if there is any harm in doing this that anyone knows of, PLEASE INFORM!

with an auto, wouldnt upping the idle RPM make it harder to stop? i know those of us with sticks its not a problem but i figure its something to look out for if you drive an auto..
