Ford states the 17" Pirelli tires/bullit wheels are the largest wheel they've ever put on a V6 pony.

No, the V6 is faster that the PP as it weighs less.
The difference between 16" stockers w/BFGoodrich tires
and the 17" OEM w/Pirellis is traction and not outer diameter.
They are the same outer diameter so the speedo reads right with
either the 16" or 17" rims with OEM tires.

Right, and they say the Pirellis have better traction therefore making the PP a wee bit faster. According to some car sights, it was clocked about 3 seconds faster.

seems like if you answer the thread question literally, the answer could be yes, even though it may be a very small amount. if you rephrase the question with "does the pp have more POWER than a non pp" than the answer is obviously NO. better street handling from the PP should be at least some advantage over the standard 4.0 which would translate into a quicker time.
as for the 17" pirellis outside diameter being larger than the stock 16" skinnies, i dont know. when i switched my skinnies with my new GT bullits, i placed them side by side and they appeared the exact same height. if the 17's are larger, than the difference must be just a few millimeters and that cant be considered a difference when dealing with tires IMO.
