well, nice pulls with just the canned 87 tune. i'm sure custom 93 tunes would have made things even nicer. good job.

What more of a gain do you think that the 93 tune would of made? Thanks by the way!

i thought boss did hit the dyno a while ago? maybe not. Whatever his numbers are now they would be considerably higher than most on the same dyno, same conditions. His trap speed is what a 97 now? That's DAMN high for the crazy traction his car gets. With street tires he would probably be trapping 98-99 which is around what a new edge gt traps. very quick.

dont quote me, as i havent put my car on the dyno yet, but have read from others that you could see 3-5 hp/tq gain when comparing a custom 91/93 tune vs. an 87 canned tune. possibly a bit more, not sure though.

Well Boss did hit the Dyno almost as the car sits now ( the old car but same set up and lighter that the current edition is) and he hit a whopping....193!!!!It is Bosses set up!Like I said earlier it isn't about a number. For those who seen my car, driven my car or been in my car did it feel as if it only launched at 205RWHP probably not but that is what it was. It isn't about a NUMBER its about drivability,

And Sancho no that was not in reference to you

Another good post Ron. A dyno's primary purpose is to prepare the car for the street/track. Dyno numbers are a nice gauge, but not the be all end all. My car always dyno'd low, but it always made me happy with the ET's it produced.

Same can be said for road coars and autox'rs.

yes ron, but this is why i said on the same dyno under the same conditions. You have to understand that while ET can be easily decreased by improving your suspension/traction mods, the better your launches, your trap will actually be slower. The fact that boss had a 97mph trap speed with his significantly better hooking suspension setup and drag radials indicates that he is making quite a bit more top end power than most of the bolt on 4.0's. If he wasn't hooking as well as he does, he would probably be trapping over 98mph....
