Dropping in the 5.4?

Dropping in the 5.4?
What would I need exactly, besides the engine of course, to get everything working properly? Would the 8.8 rear end work fine? How about the stock cats and straight pipes I put in?
Is this all I would need?

I was going to just supercharge my 4.0 but what's better than a sleeper with 430rwhp+? haha.
Any tips would be great!
P.S. how much would installation and getting the speedo and all the functions run me extra?

That is a awesome buy on that no doubt. Just off the top of my head you would need another tranny, crossmember, driveshaft, definately would want the 8.8" rear, if not you would have to custom fit the driveshaft as the yoke is different on 7.5" and 8.8's. The ECM would be needed for that engine, already has the harness though and sensors should be there as well. You would need the engine mounts and if it were me I would want the gauge cluster out of the GT500. Point being with those items, the engine, and all the odds and ends, and labor, plus the cost of the V6 stang, and you could have bought the real deal.

cool, on modularfords there is 31 page write up with pictures on this swap with a v6. search engine (greg 1320 from ground up). might have to be a member but worth signing up lots of info especially where your going. also at karkraft they have a 5.4 with 6k miles for 10k complete with harness

The 4v route costs more due to the parts being hard to come by, brand new and you have to order them from ford. I went the 3v route, much easier to get the parts at an affordable price, and a simple pp head job will have the 3v flowing as well as the 4. You can also reuse a GT ecu and wiring harness with the 3v.
Are you keeping the stock blower on it, doing all motor or going with another power adder? You will also need a drive shaft, a new ECU (you can't reuse the GT or V6 ecu with the 4v) and some other goodies. If you do not keep the stock blower, you will have to fab up an intake. Buckman is doing the 4v swap, he knows more of the particulars.

rygen. since you are doing the 3v and i'm assuming a powerhouse turbo are use using the 4.6 gt intake? and if so what adapter plates to go from 4.6 to 5.4. i see reichard makes some but i only saw for the 2v. my boy still might want to go 5.4 instead of 4.6 with a turbo setup.
