Default RE: Hi! What can I do to my stang?

How much different would reliability be for a heads/cam and bolt-on car, compared to a supercharged car? I'm saying this, b/c I want to keep my car for many years(probably till it has 100k miles+), right now it's got about 20k miles. I really don't want to have to rebuild the block, ever. Once that comes, I willprobably ditch the car, part it out, and get a new one.People I know that had their cars supercharged at20k-35k miles~ had to rebuild their car around 80k-85k miles, and they didn't evendrive their cars very hard. That's really why I don't wanta supercharger. I don't care if it willcostabit more than a supercharger, b/c reliability is big with me. Could you give me a guess than of thebudget a non-supercharged way would run?Soundslike a fun project for me if it's possible.I guess I will need atheads/cam/cai/some exhaust modand it sounds likea gears/t-lok combo(maybe LCA). Think that will do it?I searched some of this sites sponsors andsearch products. This car is my DD and will not be taken to the track, I just want more speed than a GT.

Stick with FI, at conservative boost and you will be fine. Heads and cams will cost you a fair bit more and not net you the same gains.

So I won't have to worry about a rebuild then?If so, thenwhat's a reliable and cheap supercharger? I see a lot of people around here have x-chargers, will they make me faster thana stock GT?Thanks for helping me.

Xcharger, Vortech, Procharger or PH turbo will meet your needs fine at lot to mid boost.

I dunno you could alway read and do some research too. There are many tech articles in the sticky's above.....seeing as this is only the 2,397,463 time someone has asked what they can do to help there may already be some info on the subject and then you could narrow down your questions....like is a C&L a good tuner instead of how can I make my car faster....maybe I'm wrong!

ORIGINAL: StangFTW!

Hi, I'm new to the forums and see that many of you have cars with tuners, cais, and axelbacks. I know a little about them, they give you more power I believe. I was just wondering, what can I do to my stang? Can I make it a vert good handling car? Can I make it a fast car with out throwing any superchargers on it?Thissite is so bigand looks fun. Please Help Me.

I like thex-charger's low end power and sound on the street.I see your trying to help rmays. I'll use the search function and read through some x-charger threads and see what I can do with my car. Thanks.
