Here is the most recent pricing of the x-charger. If you want the Cali version without tuner it is 3695, but for the rest of us in the other 49 states we are looking at 4-4300 for the HI-PO kit which would put us over the 5K number if the intercooler is indeed going to bump the price $1200. In a few months (afterthe driveshaft andrear-end are installed)I will likely be at the point to go F/I and I hope the price is competative. Although I would love to have the X, it is going to be tough to shell out more money than the Powerhouse Turbo and end up with less horsepower. Install is also a consideration, but if both kits cost the same I would probably choose the X-charger. Just my 2 cents. Definitely looking forward to further details

I assume the high price of the X is due to the fact that it is made by a small company. Smaller company means they buy the parts for more, and probably have to outsource more work.

the ph turbo is probably going to be the hardest to install of the 3. not hard really, but hardest of the 3.

x would be the easiest, then centri, then turbo.

takes me bout 7-8 hours to install each turbo kit ive done.

Well, for people with existing x-chargers i would be more than happy if the intercooler turns out to be $1200(and fits under the hood?)...

I've been holding off and getting F/I because I think the x-charger is the best option for me but it would need to have an intercooler. I hope there will be finall numbers on pricing soon, so I can make a decision if I'm going x-charger of Paxton SL intercooled.

I think the X works great as it is. I only think you need the intercooler if you are in a super hot state, or a track junkie. For street fun, the non-intercooled X is fine.

+1000 here

The "X" is a fantastic amount of fun as is. I've been running it well over a year, and would have missed a load ofdriving enjoyment if I were waiting on an intercooler.

When it comes along, if the price is agreeable, I may very well add the intercooler. Meantime, there's nothing wrong with how the "X" performs now.

I wont totally disagree with you, but I wont totally agree with you either. IATs @ WOT @ 10psi on my Vortech before the intercooler were just below 200 degrees (on a 70 degree day...I live in Seattle, WA...this is not a hot place at all lol). If all the research I have done holds true, roots blowers are much hotter than centri blowers, so I assume that the HiPo X kits are running at about the same temps or higher temps. 200 degree IATs are not too friendly for the engine long term.

note: my IATs were logged on the dyno, where as most people log on the Xcal2. IATs on the dyno show up hotter because the ambient air

An intercooler is always better... but I also would never run anything close to 10 psi with the X.... I guess I was speaking about the 3.0 pulley. I can tell you that if the ambient temps are 95 degrees, I can get to 170 degrees IAT at max boost with the 3.0 pulley. I imagine that the 2.8 would be up to 200 degrees.
