i spoke with someone from explorerexpress yesterday and he said that they should have one available within the next two months, i cant wait to get one. they said on the prototype with the intercooler they achieved an additional 40+ hp with a basic tune!

I thought they were saying 45hp, I would appreciate if they made the fluid flow more effecient and got 50hp out of the beast.

They'll get more, don't worry.

THe "basic" tune means "not optimized for the intercooler"

Patience....

isnt the intercooler going to add about $1200 to the pricetag as well?

I don't think there's a real price yet. It's still in development.

It just seems like the intercooled x will be so expensive it would almost seem better just to spend a little more and get a turbo. I do love how the x looks under the hood though. Why is the x-charger so expensive btw? I thought roots type blowers were supposed to be the cheapest form of superchargers.

dont quote me on this, but an Xcharger system is expensive because the amount of parts. custom intake manifold, blower, inlet housing, egr piping, etc.

its not like a turbo which is basically pipes, a turbo, wastegate, and an intercooler if so chosen.
same with a centri blower.

im 90% sure that an xcharger with an intercooler will definately be a better track car then a centri car with the same boost level.

but i thought i remembered reading it would be roughly a $1200 upgrade. even at 800-1000 it makes it a 5k+ kit right?

No, I think the Cali special regular price is like $3600, so just under $5k without the tuner at $1200. Be nice if Dave got a group buy for the IC going. I'm sure that would knock a couple hundred off then price also.
