Default NEED QUICK ADVICE - Dual Exhaust Options

Hey Gang - just need some quick feedback to help me weigh my options. Figured this might save me some time hunting around the Net. Without getting into any details or photos right now (I'll do that once I'm whole again and over the fury that still burns inside [:@]), I'm in the midst of getting repairs to my baby after some stupid punk in a Honda rear ended me and pushed me into a Ford F250. One of my options is to go to dual exhausts. Here's the scenario - I currently have in my possession two takeoff exhausts from a GT/CS (chrome tips and nice!!). I was originally (believe it or not I had plans to do a bunch of mods this past Saturday...I got slammed 5 days before that!!!) going to just replace my stock V6 exhaust with one of the take offs. Obviously I now face the potential of just going to duals since I will be receiving a new rear bumper.

Here is my question - for now, just throw out the whole debate about what gives better performance results - what is the easier and least expensive option - get an H or Y pipe and go true duals, or get an adapter and just slap on the extra exhaust muffler? I'm just concerned about having to pay a lot more for one option or the other since this is outside the realm of what the insurance company is paying for (they only will pay to bring you back to pre-accident status). Thanks in advance!!!

This is what I did with mine. $40 with the tube and bending.
Part of the original pipe is bent inward before welding the added pipe. I forgot to take the pic of that step, the idea is to devert an equal amount of the flow into the added pipe.
A goodmuffler shop should be able to do that pipe for you for around $150 top.
