mid pipes without crush marks means its smooth at the bends, as opposed to what i can best describe as a "slinky" look when it bends which is usually what you get at low end shops when they run their own pipes

+1. I've never heard that terminology before, but I'm assuming it means mandrel-bent pipes, which are supposed to be perfectly tube-shaped throughout and therefore better flowing than pipes which are just bent otherwise.

Done with an expensive pipe-bending machine.

I did a google on mandrel bent tube. Good info. out there
Figure A, the 3" inch pipe that is mandrel bent measures 3" inches at the center of the bend. True 3" inches throughout the pipe will give you 35% less backpressure. Less backpressure equals increased horsepower, torque, and better gas mileage.
Figure B, the 3" inch pipe that is stock bent measures 21/2" inches at the center of the bend. You don't benefit much by having a 3" inch pipe with 21/2 inch restriction in each bend. Your exhaust system is only as good as its weakest link. Why settle for restrictive sub par bending.
Thats the same setup I'am looking at.

i have that but the violators, i wouldn't recommend going with that, go with something better like the flowmasters, in my opinion the pypes arent deep enough and dont make it sound like i wanted it to

Depends on what you are looking for as far as sound.

I have that kit, it did indeed sound sweet, but it was far too loud for us. Soundednice inside the car but when my wife left for work in the morning it would wake me up.
I put GT takeoffs on and it's perfect (i.e. quiet at cruise with a small growl when you get on it.)
