Another Woodie, I live in Friendswood. The shop is not even 5 minutes from my house.

A cam is a bump on a circle. When the lifter is riding on the circle, it's at zero lift. As the cam rotates, the lifter slides over the bump. Regrinding a cam is making the circle smaller, in order to make the bump bigger so it can be reshaped.


Basically, you're making the bump on the camshaft bigger.

So shaving the sides down? Would this be as good or better then gettting a all new cam?

or you can buy a custom reground cam from SuperSixMotorsports for $550 which will probably be better than a reground stock cam (not sure).

Ya those are the ones i saw, do you know how much psi charges for regrinds? casue they havent emailed me back yet?

Well if you are going to go F/I why don't you just wait until you can just get a whole motor from there that is race preped with everything you need for around 16 lbs of boost? Thats what I would do anyways. Sometime I want to do that rather than swapping for an eight cuase if I did that I wouldn't have to change a whole lot more of other stuff.

Nothing from psi yet[:@], black mamba,i havent looked into that, not even thought about that, that might be a good idea, them me check out some price wise things first!
