Default superchargersonline--3299 for supercharger?

I found a Vortech supercharger for 3299 plus 57 shipping--good deal? 4149 with intercooler. That price is for everything needed including injectors & sct tuner. How fast would the supercharger make my V6? I have dual exhaust if that means anything. Give me some good estimates on 0-60 & 1/4s Thank you.

Are you an auto or manual? Which one are you thinking, intercooled or non-intercooled?

I'm an auto. probably non-intercooled due to the cost. Could an intercooler be added later?

Yes an intercooler can be added later, but I think it adds a few hundread dollars to the cost it would have without adding it later. Non-intercooled auto w/duals should see around 250-260rwhp(300-320bhp) w/stock pulley. If you upgraded it to a 8.5/9 psi pulley(most you will safely be allowed to run on a non-intercooled vortech), you'll see closer to 265-275rwhp(330-350bhp). Upgraded pulley's you can get from the vortech site, and they're about $80/each.

OoOoooooo don't get the intercooled one if all that is extra is the heat exchanger. I can get you a great deal on one of those. I am getting one right now. The little one they give you is soo small it don't do anything. The one I am getting is 3x or 4x as big and the cooler resivour is pathetic too. So get the Canton racing coolant tank its the size of a battery not the siz of a 8oz cup like the one you get from vortech. I am getting them installed this weekend I will tell you how it goes!!!!

Sweet! Tell us how it goes! Just a question I'm wondering, Have you ever considered going down to 18's or 17's(rims)? Because you'll seehigher rwhp dyno #'s(at least18-20rwhp higher)with those and you will probably be a lot faster car than you are now if you're gonna run the track or love speed. Good luck w/heat exhanger and I would love to hear some info about that(prices, website, info-how it works, etc).

Well, that can be a very touchy subject, let's hope folks keep it civil.

I think the Vortech would supply you with a smoother, more linear power while it continues to pull down the track while the X would give you the instant power kick from the light and taper off down the track.

Ease of install goes to the X, a lot of folks have done the install themselves.

Looks goes to the X although beauty is in the eye of the beholder. (hard to dispute how freakin' sexy it looks though).

I think both are very reliable, the key is keeping the tune safe.

Does the vortech also give that whiney supercharger sound too.

There is some sound, but not as obvious or as loud as the X. Roots have the very distinctive whine. Some people actually don't like it, others think it the best sound there is. Check youtube for videos of both types of superchargers under load.... quite a few dyno videos and flybys...
