Default Few questions

Hey guys i have a few questions about the 05 V6's. What mods should be done to put a turbo on one? how much boost can it handle? Whats the power limits on the stock V6? whats the best exhaust to go with on the V6? I am not the one getting the V6 my cousin is wanting one and wants it to be quick and is looking at getting a turbo set for it. I am not much in to the V6s and do not know much about them so i told him i would ask on here and see what i can get. Thanks for all the input guys.

Well hello fellow cobra. Well he should be able to do anything that he wants for mods but a tuner and CAI cause those usually come with the kit. The car can handle around 10 lbs of boost +- a pound or 2. I wouldn't go over 350rwhp unless you are planning to forge stuff and beef some stuff up. I have the JBA dual exhaust system and it work real good. Anything else you would like to know?

For a turbo charger, definately replace the stock 2 piece driveshaft with a 1 piece aluminum shaft. The stock driveshaft can only handle about 230 HP or 120 mph before failure. Also swap out the 7.5" rear end and put in a 8.8" w/ an LSD.

If it's a manual, be careful because the T5 is rated for 330 ft-lbs of torque, but the 5R55S (auto) is rated for 550 ft-lbs.

Keep in mind that the stock pistons are crappy hypereutectic aluminum. The rods are forged steel, however. The crank is steel (I think), and the block is cast iron.

^^^ Ha that is a little much if he only has 9lbs of boost. If you stay around there you should be fine with everything else stock. I have a stock DS and I have 280rwhp. Ur fine!

Yeah, stop overloading the man's budget! All he really needs is a hi-flow muffler(axelback) and a t-lok. That's really it. Little more freeflowing exhaust and power to both wheels. 400rwhp seems to be the block limit before you need to forge things. The t-lokmay not be strong enoughfor some people though that love hard launches so I'd suggest an 8.8" take off rear with whatever gears he wants. For the internals I'd say no more than 13psi or 14psi w/a conservative tune. 13/14psiis pushing it though for a daily driver. The drivshaft is fine till a certain mph (I wouldn't push it over 100mph to be safe). That should be all. Good Luck to him!
