HELP!!! Coolant smell coming from the engine
For a couple of days now I smell coolant. I see no leaksand the temp is right where it always is (right at the middle of the gaugue).
Anybody has had a similar experience?

I smelled coolant one time recently.I would just like to know what the recommended coolant change time frame is and also,do these stangs have thermostats in a convenient place if they do?,lol.Sorry,i don't know, but think my question is at least relevant to add.

Ok this is just talking, but I blew a Head gasket on my 4.3 a year ago. For about 2 days I could smell coolant. Found out that finally on day that it was draining into my oil pan an spilling out the top of the motor but when the vents were flowing you could smell it in the truck. I ended up blowing the motor because it drained in the oil pan and ruined my mainbearings. But I would check you head gaskets and your heater core, if its you heater core there maybe a little bit of antifreeze in you passinger floorboard depending on where your heater core is

mmmmmm...now that you mention it, the floor over the passenger side is a little wet.

Get some of the wetness on your fingers and examine it. If it is greasy like oil, you have a coolant leak. If it is just damp like water with no smell or slippery feel, you may have the dreaded water leak. There a TSB on it.
