Default How to: Changing from lip spoiler to GT wing spoiler?

How do you take off standard Pony Package spoiler and replace it with GT wing spolier? Is it simply a matter of unbolting the four posts (two on each side) that hold down spolier and bolting down new spoiler? I'm almost sure that's all you have to do, but I just want to make sure...

When I finally buy my V6 with the Pony Package (which should be in about a month), one of the first mods I'm gonna do is take off the rear lip spoiler and go with the GT wing spolier. I think upuntil 2006, all Pony Packages came with GT wing spolier, as opposed to the much uglier lip spoilers thatare standard on Pony Packages now.

You are correct. Flat pony spoiler for the 07s.
05 - 06 ponies have the GT spoiler.

Make the dealer do it for you for free. If you really want that much uglier GT spoiler.

I doubt the dealer would do it for free. Why would they?

Some dealers will try to appease you with something so simple if it means selling a car. I went to browse the 'Stangs at a local dealer awhile back and I saw a GT with a V6 lip spoiler. I asked the salesman how it got there, and he told me that a customer was buying a V6 but wanted the GT spoiler instead. So they switched the one on the V6 with the one on the GT. Needless to say, it didn't look too good on a GT...

I guess I'll try to pursue that when I finally buy the car. I guess if they don't want to do it, I know I can take care of it myself. In my opinion, the spoiler that come standard on any 2007+ with Pony Package is awful looking. And if it was on a GT, I'd say they should pay the customer to buy it

They had better not let Ford catch them switching
parts on new vehicles they dont even own.
They could loose their dealership status.
