Oil Change question
Ok so my car has barely 6k miles in it but my question is this. if i didnt put 3k miles in it yet but its already been about 3 months since i changed it should i change it now? is it bad if you change your oil more than recomended? by the way i use motorcraft synthetic blend. is this good or should i go for something else? also how do old posts get revived?

RE: Oil Change question
You cant hurt the engine by changing the oil toomuch, but....
It hurts the oil recyclers when the oil is changed too much.
What if everyone changed their oil at 3000 mile intervals
instead of using a quality full synthetic and going 5000 between
changes? Thats almost twice the amount of old dirty oil
being produced by consumers.
Pre-fill that filter with oil before installing it to prevent drystarting.

RE: Oil Change question
Changing synthetic oil is okay to change at 10,000 -12,000 miles or once a year if you are using redline synthetic oil.(group 5). All other store brand synthetics like mobil 1 and amsoil (Group 4) ( which are both better than Castrol syntec group 3 ) can go every 6 months or 6000 miles

ORIGINAL: my first mustang
Yes ,especially with a new engine, change it. Synthetic blend is OK,but Full synthetic is better. Use a Motorcraft filter.

Motorcraft filters are better then most out there. The only filter I have found to be better is Wix. Stay away from Fram - they just don't even stack up even to the Motorcraft.
