Default How to gain most horsepower with little cost

Hey y'all,
I have yet to add anything to my stock v6, but definitely want to give it some power! What is the best way I can boost the hp up above say 300? for minimal cost.

it depends really on how minimal of a cost we're working with especially for that kind of HP gain... so we would need more info on your budget before any real insight can be given

To get to over 300, probably a supercharger. And by "minimal cost," that means 3-4 grand at least. If you're looking to add a bit of power for a couple hundred rather than a couple thousand, your best bet is probably a Cold air intake/tune package. And then possibly exhaust. You wont get near 300, but you could likely add 20-30 hp on top of the 210 stock bhp.

no cost is minimal...id got forced induction to get to 300ish hp ($5k+)

but cheaper you can go cai/tune for $600-700 can gain some good power

dont worry about trying to match the GT if thats how you came up with the 300hp number. Get a highly reputable cai/quality custom tune, quality exhuast (single or dual) and see how you like your stang then. if you still need more performance, get gears & lsd. there is a good chance that you will realize that these mods will be plenty sufficient for your needs. good luck.

Well they are having a group buy on the X-Charger right now at 4.0c, that's a great deal and the hi-po version will get you to 350ish at the crank/ 280ish at the wheels. That'll cost you around 4 grand. But then you have to take into account the supporting mods you should do with a supercharged 4.0... at theVERY MINIMUM if you are going supercharged, you should get a gt takeoff muffler and a locking differential. locking diff = 200ish, + a pretty penny for install, GT takeoff are pretty cheap, probably could get one for 50 shipped. It all depends on your budget.

There is no way to get 300 hp with bolt ons unless you go with F/I. You could do internal stuff and possibly do it but impossible by just bolting on components[&o] If you want 300 and don't want F/I then trade for a GT but if you want more than a GT and still keep your 6 you will have to go F/I with will cost 4-6 grand!!!

Has ANYONE noticed that there is a sticky in the 4.0L section about MF participating with 4.0C on the X-Charger group buy? [8D] Here's the thread:
