They are basically the same. From the numbers I've seen posted on here, I get better than some, some get better than me and some are the same. Driving habits and where you drive play the most important role.

I get between 19-22 in the city. I haven't driven her for long periods on the highway yet to get an accurate calculation. Like most have said, it depends on if you live on flat land or in a hilly environment and whether or not you like to "jack-rabbit" all the time.

The area I live in is flat.

I get about 16-17 on average in the city and 25 on the highway....but I am putting in my JLT/XCAL this weekend.....so those numbers may dip for a few weeks

I am beginning to think that the only reason we have low gas mileage is because non of us know how to drive without dropping the hammer at least once or 5 times.

I drive very conservatively 99% of the time. That means I get no less than 27 highway and have gotten as high as 31. I don't drive city so can't comment on that. We have 1 stop light in town.

Dumb question. You are comparing a v6 and v8. Im pulling 21mpg on the highway with 4.10s cruising at 70mph.

.......................not so dumb in his case. Not much difference. The 4.0 sixer is not very fuel efficient and allows the 4.6 to close the gap.

+1 I noticed the V6 is not very fuel efficient. The difference betwen cruise and throttle is like 15mpg...

Right, if a person is fuel consumption conscience, then they need to consider a foreign car or a new Focus. The new Focus get 35 mpg.
