Default Brake sensitivity

I don't know if it just me, but does it seem that mustang brakes suck? Like when I am at a stop light I really have to press the brake for the car to stop rolling forward (It's an auto)

Also when on normal driving, if I press the brake a little nothing happens...

I went to ford for them to check it out, they just ran some stupid test and said it was fine...

Or am I imagining all of this?

I noticed a wee bit of travel at the begining of my brakes but after about an inch they start to stop the car.
They seem to be realy good coming to a full stop, but i used to drive an expidition so maby my opinions bias, i had to realy lean on those breaks!

yay i'm not the only one... lol...

i've been looking into the gt takeoff rotors because I felt the exact same problem... it's nice to know that it isn't just me...

is it true our front rotors are smaller than the back? i saw some specs posted under a brake thread and apparently the rear rotors are 11.8 while the front are 11.5? I got all confused...

Ok good, I'm not on crack. Others have this problem as well, phew.

Would getting a GT take off rotor help much? I mean, I don't think it would be that different..

gt rotor is larger, therefore more leverage for the brakes to work...
in other words it should take less force to do the same amount of work

right? lol i think that's why...

PLUS... I've read problems with caliper spacing on aftermarket wheels for our v6 front brakes. Apparently, because the smaller diameter places the caliper closer to the wheel-center (compared to the GT brakes), the caliper can actually rub against the inner wheel - which definately doesn't sound safe. GT brakes are supposed to fix this by placing the caliper 1/2" further out from the wheel-center.

Most of my info is based on what I've seen though... someone correct me if I'm wrong please!

it just depends on what car you are used to..

I used to drive a pacifica.. which did not have very good breaks.. so the stang feels like a major upgrade..lol

I do sometimes feel like I am pushing down pretty hard on my breaks to slow down..

Lemme know how the GT's work if you get em..

Well even compared to an SUV or a minivan my brakes feel weak, I've driven them all and compared. If I find a good deal on the brakes I will for sure let you know.
