Question regarding Tunes & warranty...Will they "mark" your car?
Hi fellas,
I understand about replacing the stock airbox, going back to stock tune etc...
However, my question is in regard to this...If I take the car in for service, lets say for a trunk lock problem or something not related to the engine. If the service dept. takes a look in the engine compartment just for review or something, and they happen to see the CAI, and that the tune is not stock, will they "mark" your car as one that has been modded?
So lets say I take it in later for an engine problem, and even though I've replaced the stock airbox and tune, will they refuse warranty service if a tech has marked it as being previously tampered with?
Is it always a good idea to replace airbox and stock tune ANYTIME you take it back to the dealership for warranty service? Even for something totally unrelated to anything involving electricity or engine related?

I roll in with all my mods every time I go to the dealer. They have replaced a ton of stuff under warranty.

I think that a lot depends on your local dealership. Mine has been 100% cool. They have even helped me with some of my mods and have never interfered with my warranty. Other people have had a much different experience. I think that I might goto the dealerand ask a "hypothetical" question about mods. See what he says.

return the tune to stock without replacing the airbox? How does
the Tune required CAI work with the non CAI stock tune? Throw
any codes or just runs lean?
