I have an 05 mustang and whenever I turn left or right completely it makes a popping sound. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I have also encountered this issue recently with my stang also, am taking it in AGAIN next week for Maintence once more.

It's a known flaw with the upper strut mount bearing. A warranty item if you still have covereage

If you're past warranty it's about 350, parts and labor. It's annoying but not a safety issue. I bought a used 05 GT and the buy before me never bothered to have it fixed under warranty. At worst, it's just an annoyance. Tell your Ford dealer there is a TSB for this. The fix takes only a couple of hours.

Yah I was gonna say joint/bearing that popping though could turn into worse problemsI would get it checked out

I don't know if it's the same things you guys are talking about but when I turn the front wheels all the way to either side it makes a bit of a "rubbing" sound. I know the tires aren't rubbing, but it's not a popping sound. I think most cars do that though, no?

i got the same problem and i keep checkin the fluid level for power steering and its not that, so let me know if htis is something that should be fixed by ford? i only hear it once in a while, it might be the same problem the above person is describing but not popping

I had a popping sound coming from my 05' Dodge Ram one day. Turns out someone tried to steal my 20" wheels I had on there. They managed to remove 4 of them, but couldn't get the 5th since it was locked. I went all day driving 70 MPH down the interstate, and around town, on 1 lugnut.


I was very mad. I had to take 1 lugnut off each tire to make them all have 4, and drove down to Auto Zone to replace them...


It wasn't a good day, haha
