Supercharger vs Supercharger, Which one?
#133
I've had 2 PD's and one Novi 2200 on my 2008 3valve with built motor all are good but different charateristics and power curves.
From my personal experience if street car driving ofton on a PD there's no need to wick up boost much even with low boost because of instant tq even with good suspension mods traction is more of an issue than a centrifigul. But i do love the instant tq and at tip in power Also on my 3 valve 5r auto trans I broke transmission input shafts even twisted tci 300m input shafts. The 2011 up 6R Auto has been proven to be much stronger than previous years S197. The Paxton Novi 2200 experience was good on the 08 3valve made good power and at the top of the rpm range would give you blurred vision traction at tip in was easier to maintain at tip in on street never broke anything with the Novi 2200 other than belts. That is my largest complaint is the supercharger belt being shared with all accessories if you break it your down. On the 2014 s197 I have ran nothing but turbo I prefer turbo over all boost types especially if the car See's alot of track but it's a lil more busy under the hood making things more difficult to work on. If mostly street car with some street supercharger all the way. If centrifigul I'd go Procharger Stage 2 kit. PD'S are all good but if racing more I'd choose Whipple due to a higher ceiling.
Im deciding now on what boost I'm doing on my 2019 I'm leaning towards Procharger Stage 2.
