After reading the instructions and installing a BMR front tubular K-frame, I don't know of any modifications I have to make to install the headers. With the new K-frame in place, I've got about as much room as one can have in the area where the headers go. I've also purchase high-lift jackstands (21 inches off the ground) to give me as much under car space as possible. Should be interesting, stay tuned, Jack.

Hi Lane, here's the website for BMR Fabrication where I bought my K-frame and A-arms. http://www.bmrfabrication.com/The company is located in Zepher Hills FL near Tampa, so I was able to go directly to their facility and pickup my pieces. Good stuff. Jack

Not illegal in all states... maybe there in Florida though, I'm not sure.

Are you going to be running cats or going illegal?

Why do you all seem to pick the stainless works over the mac headers? Both are mandrel bent with thick tubing, and macs are cheeper...

Legion5, I wish I new your christian name, hate referring to "site names," but that's ok, my issue. Anyway, Legion, once you see Stainless Works long tubes in the flesh you'll appreciate why myself and others are big on these items - major quality. First they're 304 grade stainless steel. The construction is"truelong tube header design," not the 3/4 style like the MACs. The header tubes are welded to a complete flange not individual tube flanges like MACs which can make installation a bit dicy. I respect your choice though, each of us can pick and install what he likes. If your set of MAC headers fit well and installed ok, then fine. I think one big difference here is that the shorties and 3/4 length headers like yours are best for use with motors not using FI (Forced Injection such as super chargers or turbos) systems. I've had fabulous performance with my JBA shorties. This setup is absolutely the best system going right now for the V6 with natural aspiration. Yes, I'm installing my Stainless Works long tubes when I get the rest of my system, but I think I'm gonna eventually install an X-Charger which will work very well with the long tubes. Long tubes work best with FI. I've come to a change in plans for my exhaust system. I was going to install the complete SW dual system with chambered mufflers. But decided to go with the headers, high flow cats, and a 2 1/2 inch Y-pipe I can connect into my stock exhaust if I want to, but I'm gonna use a turndown at the end of the Y-pipe. Just can't get away from the rumble of an unmufflered system. Here's a photo of the system I'll be installing when the cats and y-pipe gets here. Take care and enjoy your car. Jack
