Default x-charger questions

Are colder spark plugs needed or recommended? Also, what octane fuel do the tunes from Doug require??

Thanks for the help

The x-charger comes with new colder plugs... autolite 5143's. 91 octane is the lowest octane you can get for a tune for the X.

As I have read... EVERYTHING YOU NEED is included with the X. That's what got me interested in the X over any of the others (even turbos). It's an easy do it yourselfer with everything you need and a good HP/TQ gain. No need to get really anything else.

I have heard people say they would never put a turbo or supercharger on a car without upgrading other things like the heads. What do you guys think? I want to put something on but I'm affraid about blowing the engine.

Bama has a steel 2.8 pulley for sale on their site. The claim the provided pulley could cause failures down theroad. Does anyone think this will be worthwhile or has our original pulley held up over the past 2 or 3 years?

There are probably more people running the 2.8 pulley than the 3" and I've heard of no failures at all. I've run both and don't see a problem with it; with the 2.8 the boost just comes on quicker.

That is not quite what they are claiming. They are saying they USED TO use an aluminum 2.8 pulley, which could have caused problems down the road. They are now using a more sturdy steel 2.8 pulley that won't wear out.

"This is a high quality STEEL 2.8 pulley. We've decided to go with Steel as the aluminum pulleys can wear out and even cause damage to the end of the X-charger shaft when they do. With this high quality steel pulley it is powercoated black and looks just like a factory setup."

I have a question. How does the x-charger behave with cruise set to 70-75, going up hills? I made one of my many trips to Pensacola, the roads seem to be uphill both ways. So the going up the hills you can hear the engine under load. It just made me wonder if it is enough to cause the unit to engage. It would suck to be on the interstate, and that thing kick in on every hill.
