Default RE: Shifter Boot

Winters here can start in October & last into April.
This year was prety mild as most of the snow was gone by mid-March.
We can get to -40 degrees in the winter and up above 100 degrees in the summer,
and that doesn't include the wind chill factor & heat index.
We definatly getall extremes of the weather.

ORIGINAL: 05_mustang

Had my 05 in today to have the airbag recall taken care of and had them look at my shifter boot.
After only 8400 miles on the car there was a hole worn in the shifter boot, and I had them look at
it to see if was covered under my warranty.
They replaced it under warranty and it looks like they replaced it with a leather one [nice score].
The hole looks like something was rubbing when I shift between 1st & 2nd.
Your right the shifter boot material is softer but unfortunatley still vinyl or pleather as they say
