My first thought would be a panhard bar issue..

the tires size you got should be fine, if not better than what you asked for..

if the tires have a directional make sure they are on the right way..
(I dont think that is the problem, but its important..)

If its under warranty take it to Ford and have them check the alignment specs..

it could be that is has nothing to do with the wheels, but rather the way the car came from the factory.. maybe you just didnt notice it on stock wheels because they didnt come out of the fender well.

lastly, it could be the offest, as mentioned before..

there are 2 kinds I've seen on AM.. the +24mm offest and the +36mm offest..

make sure you are not running one of each.

and dont let your bros keep raggin on your car man..lol
("the tires wont fit", "the staggered rims will look bad", "the wheels wobble"..)

Pics would be nice to see.

Well first off I would be happy you got some better tires! Secondly make sure that you have both the 285 tires on the rear and not a 255 and a 285... If they are the same then something is off with either the rims or something else.

oh and i guarntee its not a panhard rod issue unless youres is really ****ed up, cause my car is lowered almost 2" all around and my wheels dont jut out further on one side (not noticeable atleast).
