I'd say something is wrong.

I couldn't get 9 MPG if I tried!

Did the BOMC Cruise a few weeks ago. 500 miles round trip.

Highway, backroads, traffic jam, parking lots, 25MPH zones.

STILL averaged 27.1 MPG for the whole day.

Our 2000 F250 super cab, V10 w/ 6" lift get 12mpg!!! You had to have miscalculated otr something.

Nah.. being somewhat conservative in a city like San Fran I get about 13 14 with 91 octane. Used to avg 11 or so with 87. So I could see 9 if im on it everywhere. It's weird I get such bad mileage in the city, but I get about 26 27 on the highway.

I once had a guy tell me that my mom was incorrect telling me you could draft and save fuel off a big rig, but I could feel a rig actually pull my mustang once when I got in close, but I never see people drafting them here and I don't know why. You don't have to be very close to the thing to feel the wind pull on your car.

Anyway I just went on a trip and my meter is saying 23.6mpg but I'm not sure if that is mixed with my commute driving or what. My trip meter said 15 miles on it at one point, I'm not sure how all that stuff works. I guess it'll tell me in the owner's manual. But man you can get 32 out of this car? sheesh you know how they say those old vw bugs get good fuel economy, well... the best I've seen those old things can do is 32mpg otherwise you'd have to start doing mods to the engine and lose a lot of horsepower. There was a guy once who took a vw bug engine and took two pistons out and was getting about 40mpg from it running on 2 cylinders maximum speed is like 45mph. Definitely not the choice car any more for mileage especially when you can buy a small acura and it is printed right on it that it gets 32mpg highway. mid 70's vw bugs should only get around 28mpg as I'm getting 25mpg out of a modified 1600cc engine.

I'm impressed even if it gets 20mpg because it is a lot heavier car than a vw bug and it is moving more parts. Usually I get 19.9-21mpg with mixed city/highway driving. Some people only get 18.0. I wonder what the GT gets.
