X-Charger #52 installed
Well, I may have set a record for the absolutely slowest x-charger install, but #52 is in and Havok is up and running. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions in my other thread. After spending last saturday painting it and doing the pre-install, and then waiting for my tuner to show up, I finally was able to start the install last night. I worked on it for about 5 hours last night, and then a good 8 hours today. I had to make 3 trips for tools I didn't have, and a run to all my neighbors to see if anybody had a stinking 1 1/16 wrench that was shorter than mine. I was finally able to work the EGR fittings by alternating between my too long end wrench and my too fat crescent.
I only had one moment of terror when I thought for a moment I had put the captured bolt on the manifold lid in the wrong hole, but then I realized I had put the stud in the wrong hole and could easily fix it.
The car runs great, I love low end grunt and x-charger howl as it winds up.
Here is a picture:
Now, I don't have my gauges yet. What kinds of things can I monitor with the xcal to make sure everything is working, no leaks, etc?

very very nice. The X-charger looks so easy to install, I want one just so I can install it, lol.
I need a video to hear it though!

congrats on your new power, moonstang! will you be taking it to the track now?

Thats the tube that comes wit the HiPo kit; I believe it's the stock tube from an Explorer (or maybe that was a Ranger). It's a larger diameter than our stock tube and more of a straight shot to the intake.

thats not the stock intake tube is it?

Umm... in the instructions I SAW A SIMILAR TUBE I ASSUMED WAS THE STOCK TUBE. You have to trim the rubber nubs that hold the clamp in position so you can rotate the clamp to be able to tighten it in the new position. That was of course, the last time I looked in the instructions...
EDIT: Changed to reflect my inaccuracy.

The intake tube comes in the kit and has been said is stock for another vehicle, I'm not sure which one. You do have to trim the guides for the clamp, because you mount the tube upside down, and so you have to rotate the clamp around so you can get to the bolt to tighten it.
Power wise, the kit seems to put out around 280 rwhp/280 rwtq, so I am assuming that's where I am. I haven't dyno'd it yet.
To paint it, I just taped off everything I didn't want paint in or on, then sprayed with duplicolor engine enamel. All credit goes to hdmines because I just basically coppied what he did and how he said he did it.
I hope to get it to the track something this spring. I've never been and live in relatively high elevation in utah, so I don't expect any earth shattering numbers, but I think it should be fun.
Speaking of videos, here are my favorite x-charger videos:
