Default Painting valve covers?

Has anyone done this on the 4.0? I really would like to do this and I have the write up some guy did on here but it was on a GT. I was just wondering if its the same or different, because I noticed that are heads are painted black and the GT's are not painted.

correct me if im wrong but people usually don't paint the heads; they paint the valve covers. and on our cars the valve covers are plastic =[

I'm so sorry you are correct. I meant the valve covers...NOT the heads.

the plastic valve covers can be painted. you just have to do some plastic prep. ie. scuffing , adheasion promotor, plastic stick. anyway it would be cool to see someone do it maybe my self when i get a chance.

Thanks for your help guys. I'm going to see if i can get around to it this week. Just if you have any more info on how to prep plastic that would be great.

i wonder if lightly sanding the plastic can give it a smoother, more "non-plastic" valve cover look while providing a nice surface for primer/paint to stick to...

i might give this a go over summer if you guys come up with something .

i'll also be on the lookout at fab. fords [8D]
