Messages while loading program w/ Xcal3

While loading any program I am getting odd messages displayed on the information center on the dash. I wanted to know if this was normal or if there is a problem w/ my tuner. Here are the steps I take:
1. Plug in the tuner
2.Select the "program vehicle" option
3.Select "Install tune" option
4. Select "Custom" option
5.Select "1 93 Perf" tune
6.AdjustOptions? Select"No"
7. Select "Begin Download"
....Downloading
8. Turnkey On when instructed

At this point the tuner begins to download again and the following messages are displayed on the information center:
"Check charging system; Fuel Level Low; DTE ODOData Err"

Once the download finishes again the tuner displays "Download complete; turn key off;Press select". I turn the key off, press select and am brought back to the "Install tune" screen. I then unplug the tuner.

Anybody have similar issues? Guess my biggest concern is that I don't feel the biggest jump that others document so I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Thanks.

It sounds like everything is OK with your tuning procedure. You will always have that stuff flashing on the screen while it is downloading. Also, I understand the letdown that you feel with the tune. When I started out, I bought an Xcal2 and caifrom one of the companies here. It came with it's own set of tunes. I had read a lot of posts in the forums. I expected some kind of great power gains. While it was better, it wasn't huge. I got rid of the tunes and got a three pack from Doug. Still better, but by the time that I got them, I had sunk quite a bit of money into the tuning thing. I guess you have to take some of thesweeping endorsements with a grain of salt. I had read some posts where people were glowing about the benefits ofshorty headers. I got a set, paida bunchto have them mountedand I can't tell the difference from the stock exhaust manifolds! So there ya go.

Just got mine from Doug so this a very timely note. Hopefully the wife won't have to many "honey do's" this weekend . Also got Roush rear springs. So I plan a good weekend depending on her !
