Default Flowmaster 40 vs. AT kit

I have been reading for hours trying to figure out if a plain Flowmaster 40 (~$100) can be easily installed on an '05 V6. Anyone have experience in performing this install?

I have found an AT kit for ~$200, but if the original 40 will fit, then it makes sense to save the money.

Thanks
