Alright so someone tell me if it is wrong to paint the calipers if you keep the stock V6 brakes

Nothing wrong with painting calipers. I painted my GT TO's before I installed them. Much better grip than before.

Its not the brakes that are changed.
Its the GT caliper brackets and GT rotors
that are needed.
You need 2 GT caliper brackets part #6R3Z-2B134-B, the same left and right.
And either OEM GT rotors or aftermarket GT replacement rotors.

And you need to do this upgrade when changing from 16x7" OEM rims to
18x8.5" OEM Bullitt rims.
While you can't do the upgrade with the 16" wheel set, you can do it with the 17" wheel. The 18" isn't required - the stock size wheel on the GT and Pony package is the 17".
My point was exactly as stated. You dont need 18" rims to go GT brakes
but you need GT brakes to go 18x8.5" OEM GT take-off Bullitt rims on a V6.
The rims dont clear the V6 caliper bracket near the mounting flange.

NO CLEARANCEbetween the rim spoke and theV6 caliper bracket.

up from the dead...

Yes, they will fit.
Its the 18x8.5 OEM bullitts that dont fit the V6 with V6 brakes.
GT brakes fit every rim thats designed for the S197.
