Some people have just painted the inside of the spokes black and ive seen others who have painted the whole thing black and left the polished lip around the outside. In my opinion I think it would just be better to get new rims. Even if they are painted, they still have the stock look..

I think that painted they look much better. I picked up a set of the stock 16" for my drag radials, and then painted the inside of the spokes so they matched up better with my black bullitts.

The prep took some time but the improved look was worth it to me.

i painted mine like jim did on his .. and it took about an hour per wheel, but it was worth it. i liked the stock look. very shelby but the colors were wrong and they didnt stand out. besides, if you paint them and dont like it, then what have you lost? not much. just get new rims then. but i say try it first then decide to get new ones. good luck!

I used to have stockies painted black and left polished lip...
They were a good temporary look but had to switch to 18"

Yeah man. 16s are just too small. 18s are much better

Obviously aftermarket rims are going to look better, but I really think painting the 16" rims looks good. I like all of the spokes painted black, with the polished lip-- like the way Project85 did his. I use 2 of my stock rims for drag radial use, and I want to paint them completely black.

JimC's looks good too. Either style really sets them off.
