Depending on the tune, you don't even need to change that. The MAF adjusts to the higher flow, and the tune will pull some timing if your inlet temps go up. VMP did my XCharger tune, and he has told me it will adjust adequately for 3.0 and 2.8 pulley.

I'll be honest, I've driven it pretty hard once or twice just to see if it knocks or pings and I've heard nothing. The idle seems normal, the scream at WOT is even more intense and of course there is the sucking sound. I would bet I'm a little lean but not too serious. High 10s or low 11's maybe on the A/F. Car feels a little quicker, especially during mid-range exceleration.

I'm running the Cali spec, though I recently threw on a Steeda CAI. I still have the 3" pulley. My last dnyo run had me at around 271 rwhp/ 278rwtq. A lot of the hi-po kits with Dougs tune are runnning close to if not over 300 rwhp. I think Marty (Beaustang) made 291 with the hi-po kit.
i believe there is only 1 xcharger car (single power adder) over 300rwhp and it isnt on a stock engine (built block, heads/cams)

i did see a 299rwhp xcharger on a stock engine though

You're right, most are in the 290's.

I wouldn't be afraid of a used X, especially Rons. He runs Amsoil and changes it every three thousand miles. The guy is super **** maintenence and you can't gowrong for 3k delivered.
I bought my PC used and sold it to a guy I know from the MC and he is running it fine. As long as things are maintained you have nothing to worry about, and Ron's deal is killer. Thatx has put him in the high 12s, a place we never thought the x could get to.

With the money you will save you can buy the intercooler when it comes out later this year. We are all hoping to see an extra 40 rwhp. The only other factor that should go into your calculations would be install. Many of us who have installed the X are not exactly mechanics and have done so with nice results. The Vortech seems to be a little more of an involved installation but doable if you have more car savy. Good luck with whatever you choose. You won't regret it!
