2005 mustang v6 , to gt conversion!
Hi All,
My girlfriend as a 2005 mustang v6 and I got her a front gt bumper, grille, fog lights and gt headlight/ fog light switch. My question is, before I start installing it do you guy's know off hand if i can simply plug the fog lights and switch into the v6 wiring , or was the wiring for the fog lights deleted in v6 models?Would like to avoid installing an aftermarket switch and relay!
Thanks for your time in advance!
Charlie

Oh yeah, an engine, transmission, driveshaft, and rear-end.. Oh, and brakes, and springs, and..
Why not just trade it in? Cheaper to do that. Unless, of course, you aren't talking about a conversion...

if its not a pony package you'll need the wiring harness like they have here: http://v6mustangstuff.com/05Lighting.htm (Street Scene 2005 + V6 Fog Light Wiring Harness)

Her 2005 DIDN'T have fog light wiring "hidden" in the harness. The pony package didn't come out until 2006. You will need to wire in a relay into these fog lights. DO NOT TRY TO WIRE THEM DIRECT FROM THE SWITCH! IMHO It would be easier to wire them independently from the head lights. (check local laws as some laws don't allow any lights to be on while high beams are on) Many have used the stock v6 headlight switch and drilled a hole to the right and installed a small switch there.
There are a few places you can pull the signal pulse (12v)for the relay so your lights can be independent of your lights (fogs can be on with OR withoutother lights)or parallel (fogs can only be on with marker light or low beams what ever signal you choise)
