Does anyone know if smoked tail lights are illegal in Georgia????

I definitely like the looks of the smoked tail lights on the black mustangs and am interested in purchasing a set off of American Muscle. However, if they are illegal, I don't want to waste my time and money.

Any feeback would be greatly appreciated.

I think they are illegal pretty much everywhere aren't they? That doesn't seem to stop anyone though. It's only an equipment violation anyways.

Not sure...I've read that they are illegal in CA and a few other states; however I am not sure about GA. I just don't want to be hasseled by the police, if I don't have too. There are cops all over near my house, since I live nearby Kennesaw State College.

I live it GA to so I'll be watching this thread. As far as I know though, they are illegal in most states.

they are illegal in all states, the manufacture (ford) has to have X amount of light shone through the tail lights to DOT, blocking it down is illegal and makes it harder to see

and if you get rear ended it is automatically YOUR fault because you obstructed the view of your tail lights

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I reside near Kennesaw State College and there are a large number ofcops that patrol the area.I don't want to be hasseled by the copsand alwayshaveto worryif acop has spottedmysmoked taillights.I will most likely pass on purchasing the smoke tail lights.

Well I dunno about Georgia but in California they are illegal but it depends on the cop when he pulls you over. My taillights are smoked out and in the 2 years i had the car i only had 2 tickets for them. All i did was bout an extra stock pair and when i got a fix it ticket, i jus swappedthem and showed CHP.

Definitely don't go anywhere near Woodstock with smoked tail lights, the cops up there love tinted windows, headlight infractions and non-working tail-lights

Yeah I used to live in Woodstock. Cops everywhere especially now with all the development.
